Moxa in Motion with the Ontake Method
The Ontake Method is a ground-breaking new bodywork technique, developed by British acupuncturist Oran Kivity. Heated bamboo is applied to the skin rhythmically, using a metronome, at specific frequencies of beats per minute, according to the meridian affected. This approach integrates traditional Chinese acupuncture theory, modern holographic models and Japanese doctor Yoshio Manaka’s research into meridian frequencies.
Ontake moxibustion has been used in Japan for perhaps only fifty years but with its more recent development as a systematic method, its popularity has skyrocketed worldwide. It brings about rapid changes in body condition and relieves pain fast, greatly enhancing clinical effectiveness and, most importantly, it is loved by patients.
