INTRODUCTION TO MERIDIAN THERAPY
Meridian therapy is a school of Japanese acupuncture distinguished by its emphasis on the classics, its utilization of the five-phase points in treating the root of disease, and the importance which it attaches to palpatory skills in diagnosis and point location.
In this four-day workshop, we will explore theory, diagnosis and treatment strategies for balancing treatment at root and branch. We will learn to treat using shallow needle insertion at the root points and discuss a variety of options for treating the branch.

The middle pulse is an indicator of overall health and it can help us with prognostication. It also gives us feedback on the progression of a treatment during a session or a course of treatment. Pulse taking always seems difficult, but like any complex task, it can be broken down into simpler components.
The workshop introduces a way to simplify pulse taking and quantify the changes taking place during a treatment. You will learn a simple method to take the pulse, as well as a shorthand to record these qualities before and after treatment.
Throughout the workshop, we will practice pulse quality and pulse position comparison diagnosis as well as abdominal palpation to corroborate your findings.
